We are pleased to announce that FA-Tech Australia, in partnership with Mastek, have successfully won and migrated Oracle eBusiness Suite from on-premises to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (#OCI) in 2022/23. Working closely with a large WA Government agency, the project successfully migrated from a legacy on-premises Sun Solaris and SPARC environment to an agile and robust solution leveraging on the latest Oracle cloud offerings.
The complex migration path includes moving from Solaris platform to Unix/Linux platform in OCI. This also incorporated multiple system to system interfaces including AS400, HR systems, banking systems, licensing systems and reporting systems (e.g. Oracle Apex, Oracle Analytics and Oracle EPM).
The project was delivered within budget and timeline with additional functional improvements such as High Availability with Disaster Recovery environment, security improvements and effective operational tasks added to the final delivery. This includes key ongoing efficiencies such as backups and recovery, proactive monitoring and audits, and environment management for patching and upgrades.
A key driver of the project was the effectiveness of the project team. Although a common oversight for most engagement, the success of the project would not be possible without all stakeholders fostering a positive, can-do attitude to achieve the desired result.
